VLADIVOSTOK, July 29 (Itar-Tass) -- A summit meeting of Asia Pacific
Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, traditionally held in November, is
likely to be convened in Russia's Far Eastern city of Vladivostok in early
September in 2012 due to climatic reasons, governor of the Primorsky
Territory Sergei Darkin told a news conference on Friday.
"The exact dates are currently being agreed upon by the Russian
Foreign Ministry and the APEC organizing committee, since each of the APEC
20 member-states has its own laws, state and religious holidays," Darkin
said.
September in Russia's Far East is the most favourable month in terms
of climatic conditions. As a rule, by this time the cyclone period is over
while the weather is still warm.
