Fresh al Qaeda attack kills six troops in Yemen

SHABWA, July 26 (Saba) - Six troops
were killed on Sunday night in a fresh al Qaeda attack in Yemen's Shabwa Province,
police
director said, adding that three suspected al Qaeda terrorists were also killed.
Brigadier Ahmed al Maqdashi said terrorists in cooperation with outlaws attacked at
10:00
pm troops in al Aqlah district killing six of them. The troops faced the attack and
killed three terrorists including a leader named Zayed al Daghari and the car which
was
used in the attack was also seized, he added. Initial investigations revealed the
terrorist group was involved Thursday's attack on a security patrol in the province
that
killed five soldiers and injured a sixth, he said. A massive hunt for terrorist
suspects was launched after al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula claimed recent attacks
on security
buildings and troops in southern and southeastern areas, he concluded. FR
