PREMIER TOURING WESTERN AIMAGS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold started his tours to western aimags on July 23 from Ovorkhangai's Kharkhorin soum and Arkhangai aimag.
Beginning the tour, the group visited Erdenezuu monastery and held a meeting with Kharkhorin and Tsetserleg soum people, got acquainted with life and situation of people in Arkhangai aimag's Khotont, Tovshruulekh, Tsenkher, Erdenebulgan, Ikhtamir, Chuluut, Tariat, Khangai and Tsakhir soums. The Premier received opinions of the locals and shared with them views on the state policy and activities. Then Premier and accompanying him officials got au fait with some tourist camps located in natural beautiful points, and gave some obligations to the camps' authorities.
“Hundreds of foreign and domestic tourists have a rest in Arkhangai aimag every year. Arkhangai is a junction of tourists' ways. But our aimag do not have airlines, railways or water transport, and is located far away from the state borders, biggest cities and heavy industry centers. We needs high quality auto roads,” the locals told the Premier. Some people want the state to complete construction of an auto road between Tsetserleg soum and Kharkhorin of Ovorkhangai aimag.
During the tour to Arkhangai, Mr. Batbold attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open a new fountain. After this, he presented keys to “UAZ-469” Russian made jeeps to Ch.Batbold, a new governor of the aimag's Jargalant soum, one of the remote ones in this aimag.
The Premier appreciated creative works done by Yo.Baatarbileg, a governor of Arkhangai aimag, who took his post three months ago. He suggested the aimag's authorities to spare more time for meetings with people, and wished them success and development.
In response, the aimag's people presented him a horse, silver decorated saddle and a whip.
