Iran not to curb oil production after EU sanctions- min

Tehran, July 26, IRNA – Oil Minister Massoud Mir-Kazemi said here on Sunday evening Iran will not decrease its oil production in case the European Union (EU) imposes new sanctions on the country.

Talking to IRNA on the sidelines of the Sunday government session, Mir-Kazemi said the Islamic Republic of Iran has been accustomed to such sanctions since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, and thus feels no problem in facing them.

About the contribution of the European companies to the Iranian oil and gas markets, the oil minister said they have never had any effective presence in the country’s markets.

Iran is developing its oil and gas fields merely by Iranian companies and experts of the Iranian oil industry.

The EU endeavor to impose new sanctions on Iran’s oil and gas industries is clearly contradicting their efforts for many years to establish free world trade mechanism, he stressed.
