EU to provide 33 mln euros to improve security apparatuses
SANA'A, July 25 (Saba)- Minister of Interior Mutahar al-Masri discussed on Sunday with head of the European Union Commission to Yemen Michele Cervone d'Urso aspects of the bilateral cooperation, specially in the security field.
The talks also focused on the reliable means to reinforce relations to be further
improved in a way to serve joint interests of Yemen and the EU member states.
During the meeting, d'Urso affirmed determination of the European Union to provide
more support in order to develop the Police Academy, noting that the EU will
finance two
projects in the security area and developing the Police Academy at a total cost of
33 million Euros.
For his part, the minister, al-Masri, hailed the support offered by the EU for
Yemen security systems, particularly in the academic field.
He voiced readiness of the ministry's leadership to facilitate all difficulties to
help the European friends carry out those projects.
