Aussie woman dies in German music crush

An Australian woman was among 19 people killed in a stampede at a music festival in
Germany.
A spokesman from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed the death of
the 27-year-old NSW woman.
He said authorities were urgently trying to establish if any other Australians had
been affected.
The woman died when crowds streaming into the Love Parade music festival in Duisburg
in western Germany surged through a jammed entry tunnel, setting off a panic.
It appears some of them were crushed to death in Saturday's tragedy at what was
billed as the world's largest techno party.
The department says if anyone has concerns about family and friends who may have
been at the festival, they should contact them directly first.
