Workshop on integration of social gender in fourth five-year plan
SANA'A, July 24
(Saba) - A workshop on integrating social gender in the fourth five-year plan
2011-2015 is
to kick off on Sunday under the slogan "Women are essential to development".
The workshop is organized by the Cabinet's General Secretariat in cooperation with
the National Commission for Women under the auspices of Prime Minister with support
from
the Dutch embassy.
The Assistant Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the Cabinet for Political
Affairs and External Relations Jamal Ali Ahmed to Saba that the workshop would
review analytical
reports, which included 28 Ministries, on gaps and remedies proposed for the
integration of social gender in the fourth five-year plan.
The workshop would include a number of comments and clarifications by the concerned
Ministries on the main paper presented by the Women's Commission on social gender
gaps
and polices agreed upon with the Ministries and the women component in the fourth
five-year plan, he pointed out.
In this regard, Ahmed noted the importance of the workshop to strengthen the
women's role and contributions as one of the main pillars in achieving
comprehensive and sustainable
development.
He explained that the role of Yemeni women in recent years has seen a significant
growing and a change in the quality and nature of participation in economic,
social, cultural
and political activities.
