MAMMADYAROV BEATS VIETNAMESE GRANDMASTER AT DORTMUND TOURNAMENT
Baku, July 24 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov has defeated Vietnamese Le Quang Liem in the 8th round of an international tournament in Dortmund, Germany, increasing his points to 4,5.
The day`s other results are as follows: Ukrainian Ruslan Ponomariov 1-0 German Arkadij Naiditsch, Russian Vladimir Kramnik 0.5-0.5 Hungarian Peter Leko.
After 8 rounds, Ponomariov leads the table with 5.5 points.
The 9th round will see Mammadyarov face Ponomariov, Liem play Leko and Naiditsch clash with Kramnik.
