Japan's ministerial delegation comes for remains of WWII soldiers

VLADIVOSTOK, July 24 (Itar-Tass) -- Japan's delegation from the
Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare comes on Saturday to Sakhalin to
take remains of four Japanese soldiers, who died there over World War II.
A local military-research foundation came across the remains over the
excavation, which had been done on the island for over twenty years.
During World War II an on-shore border between the USSR and Japan went
across Sakhalin Island. Japan's five thousand soldiers fought there. It
took the Soviet troops several days to get into Japan's fortified area.
This was the last fight of the war. The death toll reached about 2,500
from both sides.
Over the search operation, the military-research foundation members
found remains of over 400 soldiers and officers from both countries, and
all of them were buried with military honours.
.Russia-China trading floor opens in Novosibirsk.
NOVOSIBIRSK, July 24 (Itar-Tass) -- A new Russian-Chinese trading
floor, the Factor, was opened in Novosibirsk on Friday.
The purpose of the new trading floor is to form business relations
between the two counties on the basis of civilised market relations,
active mutual investments, and joint entrepreneurship, First Deputy of the
presidential envoy in the Siberian Federal District Vladimir Psaryev said.
Traders will make deals with assets of existing companies, with
packets of shares, with trade marks and patents. The Beijing Stock
Exchange is expected to become a partner in trade operations at the Factor.
Representatives of the local government as well as businesses from
China and Russia took part in the opening ceremony.

PYONGYANG, July 24 (Itar-Tass) -- The DPRK "may at any necessary time
use its mighty nuclear deterrence forces in response to the series of
joint military exercises of the USA and South Korea in the Yellow Sea and
in the Sea of Japan due in July-August," a statement of the National
Defence Committee published by the KCNA /Korean Central News Agency/ said.
"It will be our holy war with American imperialists and South Korean
puppet regime, which intensify deliberately the tension in the Korean
Peninsula," the statement read.
Pyongyang considers the military exercises "a second military
provocation against the DPRK from Washington and Seoul." The first one,
the statement said, was in May, when the conclusions of the so-called
international expert commission "announced unfoundedly the DPRK
responsible for the sinking of the South Korean Cheonan corvette in the
Yellow Sea in late March."
Pyongyang warned that under the present situation, the DPRK "is made
to enforce its nuclear deterrence forces, and the future of the Korean
Peninsula's denuclearisation becomes more distanced."
