Kyrgyzstan needs Russia`s, Kazakhstan`s help - first deputy PM.
BISHKEK, July 23 (Itar-Tass) -- Kyrgyzstan's First Deputy Prime
Minister Amangeldy Muraliyev met with Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister
Grigory Karasin and Kazakhstan's First Deputy Foreign Minister Nurtai
Abykayev to discuss cooperation problems, the press service of the Kyrgyz
government told Itar-Tass on Friday.
According to the press service, Muraliyev said his country attached
major significance to cooperation with "such brotherly countries as Russia
and Kazakhstan" and expressed thanks for the assistance they offer to
Kyrgyzstan in this difficult time.
"Today, our basic goal is to recover the violence-hit economy in
Kyrgyzstan's southern regions and to stabilize the economic situation in
the country," Muraliyev said. "We are trying to find our own resources,
reduce expenditures and boost incomes, but we are still needing your help."
The Russian deputy foreign minister said it was necessary to elaborate
a program of assistance to stabilize the situation in the republic and to
involve economic and social ministries, as well as law enforcement bodies
in such activities. "We are set to help the Kyrgyz side develop the
country's economy. It is necessary to focus on the most pressing problems
and try to solve them as soon as possible," Karasin said.
