TURKISH JOURNALISTS VISIT AZERTAC

Baku, July 21 (AzerTAc). A delegation from the Federation of Turkish Journalists headed by its Chairman Atilla Sertel met with Director General of Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency, AzerTAc, Aslan Aslanov.
Aslanov informed the Turkish journalists about the history of AzerTAc which was founded in 1920.
He spoke of Azerbaijan`s achievements during national leader Heydar Aliyev`s years in power. The Director General said the nationwide leader always paid great attention to AzerTAc.
Aslanov said “the nationwide leader`s policy is today successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, and as a result Azerbaijan has become the regional leader”.
“These achievements also contribute to developing AzerTAc, which, year after year, is expanding its international relations.”
“Today AzerTAc is a member of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and its Executive Board and the European Alliance of News Agencies. Our agency is also one of the founding members of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies and the Association of Turkish Speaking News Agencies (TKA), the organization whose general assembly has been chaired by AzerTAc since 2008. Two years ago we hosted meetings of TKA and OANA.”
Aslanov also told of AzerTAc`s relations with the Turkish Anatolian Agency, saying the two agencies enjoy “effective” cooperation within regional organizations.
Head of Federation of Turkish Journalists congratulated AzerTAc`s chief and staff on the 135th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s national press. Sertel highlighted the importance of the reciprocal visits by journalists, saying they contribute to further expanding the relations between the media.
