Russia to support deeper partnership between ASEAN and SCO.

HANOI, July 22 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia will work on the establishment of
deeper partnership between ASEAN and the SCO, Russia's Foreign Minister
Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday following a Russia-ASEAN ministerial
meeting.
"Today, we have signed a third protocol to the Baltic agreement, under
which not only separate countries, but international organisations will be
able to join the agreement," he said. "That is why our counterparts have
expressed interest to deeper partner relations between ASEAN and the SCO."
"We have also discussed detailed plans for this," Lavrov said. "We
shall work on them and implement these plans."
ASEAN's Deputy Secretary General took part in the SCO latest summit,
he said.
"We hope that the SCO's Secretary General will be able to take part in
ASEAN events over the current year," Lavrov added.
