FIRST DEPUTY PREMIER RECEIVES WIPO EXPERTS


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The First Deputy Premier of Mongolia N.Altankhuyag received Thursday experts of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) who intend to work out a national strategy of Mongolia on intellectual property, in accordance with a request of the experts.
"Mongolia urgently needs to draw up and realize its strategy of intellectual property when the country intends to increase its competitiveness and support scientific and technological progress and innovation," Mr. Altankhuyag said. Then he conveyed his thanks to Francis Gurry, Director-General of the WIPO for receiving the request of Mongolia to work out the strategy of intellectual property of Mongolia.
In the first turn, the experts have introduced frames of the project on the strategy of intellectual property and its methods of implementation. A senior advisor to the WIPO in charge of project management Mrs. Franceska Tozo said that it is important to create a national mechanism of ensuring the working planning and connections for a successful realization of the project. She pointed out an importance of connections, aspiration and support of governmental organizations.
Mr. Altankhuyag expressed gratitude to the WIPO's experts, and said he hopes that the national strategy of intellectual property to be worked out by the experts will significantly contribute to developing economy based on knowledge, to increasing the competitiveness, improving socio-economic life, augmenting job places and attracting foreign investments.
