Destabilizing Iran, Jundallah’s aim: Pakistani Analyst
Islamabad, July 21, IRNA -- A well known Pakistani Analyst Imtiaz Gul on Tuesday said that Jundallah is a terrorist organization with an objective to destabilize Iranian state.
Talking to IRNA he said that there are certain forces that would like to create unrest inside Iran.
“It (Jundallah) is a terrorist group which is destabilizing the Iranian interest and they make attempts whenever they find any chance”, the analyst added.
Referring to the recent twin suicide attacks at Mosque in Zhedan, Imtiaz Gul said that the objective of such attempts is to create panic and fear among the people.
He added that this is just part of the terror campaign and Jundullah like to continue their activities. “They claim responsibility of every attack just to create fear among Iranian people”, he said.
Imtiaz Gul said that some media reports say that this group operates from Karachi. “It is better for Pakistan to curb any group which is operating against Iran”, the analyst suggested.
Replying to a question he said if Jundullah continue to use Pakistani territory against Iran, then it would obviously have a negative impact on the relationship between the two countries.
The analyst said that the activities of people of Jundallah should be stopped and for this Iran and Pakistan have to tighten the security at Pak-Iran border.
Jundulla, which is widely known to be supported, armed and funded by the US intelligence agencies, has committed numerous acts of terrorism in southeastern Iran, resulting in the death and injury of many civilians.
Jundullah, is a Baloch group which operates in Sistan-Balochestan province in Iran. Since 2003, Jundallah members have carried out over 50 terrorist operations in Iran.
They have committed mass murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, and carried out bombings targeting civilians and government officials, and acts of sabotage.
Imtiaz Gul is the Chairman of Center for Research and Security Studies in Islamabad and hosts a weekly political talk show. Gul is one of the leading media persons of Pakistan focusing on the issues of politics governance security terrorism and religious extremism./end
