Cabinet approves package of measures to improve performance of Funds

SANA'A, July 20
(Saba) - The Cabinet approved on Tuesday a package of immediate and medium-term
measures
aiming to improve the performance of the Funds and activate their developmental role.
The measures included appointing an expertise house to conduct in-depth assessment
of these Funds and restructure them in light of this systematic process to achieve
their
most effective role in the development, based on transparency conditions and
allocating resources for these Funds for the purposes and areas within framework of
a clear plan
reflected in their annual budgets.
Among the immediate actions approved by the Cabinet is having an advanced system
for financial accounting and reviewing the current administrative leadership of the
Funds
and appointing a reliable accountant.
The medium-term actions represent in restructuring of many funds and the completion
of the issuance of their executive regulations, as well as the preparation of terms
of
reference for selecting separate departments of a group of funds according to
competitive measures and other actions.
The Cabinet praised the efforts made by the committee assigned to review and assess
the conditions of the Funds, and stressed on the direct supervision of the
committee
on restructuring of these Funds from all aspects in accordance with the decision of
the Cabinet thereon.
