PARLIAMENT SPEAKER GIVES SPEECH AT WCPS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A delegation headed by the Parliament Speaker of Mongolia D.Demberel is taking part in the 3rd World Conference of Parliament Speakers which is continuing in Geneva city, Switzerland under a general theme “Parliaments in a world of crisis: securing global democratic accountability for the common good”.
The conference is opened and chaired by Mr. Theo-Ben Gurirab, the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). After opening the Conference, the United Nations Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon delivered a speech to Speakers of countries.
During the Forum, the Speaker Mr. Demberel met with his counterparts of Turkey and India, who recently visited Mongolia. Mr. Demberel also held a meeting with Choe Tae Pok, the Speaker of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in accordance with the North Korea's side.
On the second day, the Mongolia's Speaker delivered a speech at the Forum. He mentioned that the multi-party system was set up at the Mongolia's parliament in 1990 with getting its forms, and emphasized that the relations of democracy and market and valuables of human rights have strengthened in Mongolia. He underlined that Mongolia intends to overcome difficulties by using domestic possibilities although the country is receiving recommendation and support of international organizations.
Ending his speech, Mr. Demberel invited Speakers and parliamentarians of Asia-pacific countries to take part in the 19th Forum of Asia-Pacific Parliament that will be held on January 23-27, 2011 in Ulaanbaatar city, Mongolia.
