FORUM OF WORLD MONGOLIANS RUNNING


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Some 650 Mongolian from over the world have gathered in Ulan-Ude city, the Russian Buryatia.
These days, the Mongolians are sharing experiences in protecting and saving the Mongolian language, script and culture, and in organizing international meetings, symposium, arts festival and sports competitions.
Speeches were given by Ts.Elbegdorj, the President of Mongolia, and by V.V.Nagovitsyn, the President of Buryat Republic at the festive meeting of the forum.
"We have made all our efforts to organize this forum that has become the friendship symbol of the people of many nations in our Republic. I think that the participation of Mongolia's President in the forum is an expression of the special attention of the Mongolian state to protecting national language and culture," Mr. Nagovitsyn said.
A letter of Russia's President D.Medvedev addressing the forum states that the forum is an important event not only for the ties and collaboration between Mongolia and the Buryat Republic, but also for the Mongolia-Russia relations and cooperation. D.Medvedev notes in the letter that he is confident that significant proposals and initiatives will be created during the event from the scholars and researchers who have heart and mind to significantly contribute to propagandizing the Mongolian nationality.
One of the special actions of the forum was the presentation of the greeting from the Mongolian people to the Honorary President of the Forum of World Mongolians. A horse-riding group comprising 20 Mongolians, Tuva and Buryat people aged 13-55 brought the congratulation letter by the means of the postal horse relay service.
In a scope of the forum, a ceremony took place to grant an eight-walled ger (national dwelling) to the people and the Government of the Republic of Buryatia. Three Manly games, conferences of scholars and researchers, the opening of Mongolian Language and Cultural Center, expos, and music festivals took place.
