MONGOLIA AND RUSSIAN BURYATIA WANT TO DEVELOP COOPERATION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ At a one-to-one meeting, the Presidents of Mongolia and the Burayt Republic, a federal subject of the Russian Federation, shared views and discussed issues of developing the ties between Mongolia and the Russian Buryatia and of the bilateral economic and cross-border cooperation.
"Since the first meeting between the Governments of Mongolia and Buryatia in 1992, discussed and agreed between us matters on trade, agriculture, railroad, construction, mining, energy, tourism sectors have been realized. Moreover, our relations have successfully been developing," Buryatia's President Nagovitsyn said. "I cannot deny that there are some things an implementation of which are a bit slow or delayed. Nevertheless, we are working with an aim to solve the issues, and we are seeking mutually beneficial outcomes," he added. He continued that Buryatian side in particular focuses on increasing customs and border-crossing capacity to serve faster and increase meat import from Mongolia.
Mongolia's President Elbegdorj underlined that it is important that the ties between Mongolia and Buryatia--who share same historic origin, languages, culture and traditions--are expanded in all spheres.
The State Head Elbegdorj sounded his views on the ties, and proposed to repair locomotives and trains in Ulan-Ude, buy locomotives from Buryatia, establish a joint vet unit for increasing meat exports from Mongolia, build a joint meat factory with investments from the sides, and to help each other in cases of natural disasters and in important cases.
In recent years, the cultural ties have been intensively developing. In frames of the Session of the World Mongolians' Forum, artistic and cultural events, conferences of scholars and researchers have been running in wide areas. Besides, many Mongolians from Buryatia and other countries are expected to participate in Altargana Festival that is to begin July 21, 2010 in Ulaanbaatar. These events are very important ones for the Mongolia-Russian Buryatia relationship.
Mr. Nagovitsyn pointed out that the participation of Mongolia's President in the World Mongolians' Forum is an honor not only for the festival of the Mongolians, but also for the Republic of Buryatia.
