PREMIER MEETS U.S DEPUTY SECRETARY OF STATE
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister of Mongolia S.Batbold received Monday Mr. James Steinberg, the U.S Deputy Secretary of State.
Beginning the meeting, the Premier emphasized a successful development of the Mongolia-USA friendly relations and cooperation, and underlined that the ties have gained success in the social, political and economic spheres. Mr. Batbold mentioned that the USA steadily support the democracy of Mongolia's politics, society and economy and the market economy, and then noted that the present times' bilateral relations have brought into a newer level.
"Mongolia adheres to a policy on ensuring and protecting international and regional security, and participates in the peacekeeping operations in the world's hot spots together with the United Nations, USA and other countries," Mr. Batbold stressed. He added that Mongolia has a willingness to share its 20-year experience in democracy with any country of the world on promotion of human rights and development of market economy.
The Premier mentioned about successful implementation of programs of the U.S Millennium Challenge Account (MCA). He underlined a great opportunity to develop the economic cooperation and forward investments and business exchanges, and expressed a willingness to cooperate with the USA in the educational sector, developing IT and transferring technologies.
In response, Mr. Steinberg said the USA highly spoke its relations and cooperation with Mongolia, and promised to work with an effort to widen the relations and cooperation. He pointed out that the USA have been supporting the peaceful policy of Mongolia on ensuring the world and regional security.
Mr. Steinberg said he appreciates Mongolia's endeavor to ensure and strengthen the international and regional security, and underlined that learning experiences of Mongolia's democracy is to be very helpful for any country who faces difficulties. Mr. Steinberg said he supports opinions and proposals put by the Mongolian Premier and expressed a willingness to deepen the bilateral collaboration in training the Mongolian students and preparing professionals in the USA.
