KAZAKHSTAN HOSTS INFORMAL MEETING OF OSCE FOREIGN MINISTERS

Baku, July 17 (AzerTAc). An informal meeting of OSCE Foreign Ministers is underway in Kazakh city Almaty.
The event brought together Foreign Ministers from OSCE 56 member states. Visa issues, recognition of the diplomatic passports, combat with illicit drugs turnover were in the focus of meeting. The bilateral meetings were held between the acting OSCE Chairman, Kazakh FM Kanat Saudabayev and Foreign Ministers of the OSCE member states.
Representative of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for Combating the Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors (CARICC) Tofig Murshudlu said aim of the center was to control narcotics delivered from Afghanistan. He praised Azerbaijan`s activity in combat with illicit drugs turnover. Mr. Murshudlu said the CARICC was aware of the UN report, 2005 on cultivation of the narcotic drugs in the Armenia-occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
The OSCE and CARICC signed an agreement on cooperation. OSCE acting Chairman met with ex-chairman, Greek Deputy FM, and Lithuanian Foreign Minister, who is going to take over OSCE Chairmanship in 2011.
