FIRST INT`L OPERA FESTIVAL IN ISTANBUL TO CULMINATE IN “KOROGLU” OPERA
Baku, July 17 (AzerTAc). The first international opera festival held in Istanbul in the frame of announcing this city in 2010 the capital of European culture is coming to an end.
The Festival`s closing ceremony will become a landmark event also for Azerbaijan. The point is that from July 2 the Festival`s program included compositions by the world known music classics as Rossini, Verdi, Mozart, Handel, and the musical festivities, according to organizers, will culminate in the masterpiece of Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli`s “Koroglu” opera.
Performance of opera “Koroglu” (The Blind man`s son) prepared in the frame of TURKSOY project, will be one of the key events of the Festival. Along with the Azerbaijani opera artists the performance will involve actors from Turkey, the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, as well as Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
Director of the spectacle is Aflatun Nematzade.
