SREBRENICA GENOCIDE`s 15TH ANNIVERSARY MARKED IN SARAJEVO
Baku, July 17 (AzerTAc). A commemorative event to mark the 15th anniversary of the Srebrenica Genocide has been held in Sarajevo.
The event brought together more than sixty thousand people including Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nikola Spiric, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and French foreign minister Bernard Kouchner.
Azerbaijan was represented in the event by Shahin Sayilov, secretary of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People and official of the Working Group Emin Agayev.
As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation met in Sarajevo Kathryne Bomberger, director-general of the International Commission on Missing Persons and officials of the commission Rifat Kesetovic and Emina Kurtalic.
The Srebrenica Genocide refers to the July 1995 killing of more than 8,000 Muslim Bosnian men and boys, as well as the ethnic cleansing of 25,000–30,000 refugees in the area of Srebrenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Serbian Army.
