Ukraine is concerned about Romania`s plan to expand Danube delta
KIEV, July 17 (Itar-Tass) -- Ukraine is concerned about Romania's
decision to expand the Danube delta, which was taken unilaterally, Ukraine'
s Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov said over a meeting with the EU
Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn on Friday, the press
service of Ukraine's government said.
"We are concerned about Romania's position, which is unilaterally
expanding the Danube delta in order to forward cargo routes to its ports,"
he said. "We would like to draw your attention to the fact that issues of
this kind should be solved by bilateral talks with possible involvement of
the European Commission."
We have started discussions with the foreign ministry on an acceptable
decision both for the Ukrainian and the Romanian sides on the Danube
delta, Hahn said.
