Athletes from six countries will compete in the 17th Ho Chi Minh City Open Track

HCM City (VNA)- As many as 322 athletes from six countries will compete in the 17 th
Ho Chi Minh City Open Track and Field Tournament taking place from July 17-19.

The participating countries include the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Malaysia,
Singapore, Cambodia and the host Vietnam.

Among the best Vietnamese hopefuls are Vu Thi Huong, Truong Thanh Hang, Nguyen
Dinh Cuong, Le Ngoc Phuong and Duong Thi Viet Anh who are expected to bring good
results as this event is an important test to choose players for the ASIAD
Guangzhou 2010.

At a press conference on July 15, Nguyen Trung Hinh, deputy chairman of Ho Chi
Minh City Athletics Federation said that the 16-year-old tournament has been
recognised by the Asian Athletics Federation as an official competition since this
