China and Germany sign 10 cooperation agreements.

BEIJING, July 16 (Itar-Tass) -- China and Germany have concluded ten
agreements on cooperation in different fields. The signing ceremony was
held after talks between Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and German
Chancellor Angela Merkel who arrived in China for a four-day official
visit on Thursday.
The agreements signed by the two countries' governments, corresponding
departments and business circles of China and Germany concern cooperation
in such directions as finances, environmental protection, culture, the
sphere of services, as well as technical and economic cooperation, the
news agency Xinhua reports.
Among the signed documents is also an agreement worh 938 million
dollars on the creation a joint venture for production of trucks on the
territory of China. Besides, the sides singed an agreement which is to
attract 124 million euros which will be used to reduce harmful emissions
and raise enterprises' energy saving.
Apart from this, the company Siemens and the Shanghai-based Electric
Group concluded an agreement on joint researches and development of steam
and gas turbines to the sum of 3.5 billion dollars.
On Friday, Angela Merkel is also to have meetings with Chinese
President Hu Jintao and Vice-President Xi Jinping. During her stay in
China, apart from Beijing, the German chancellor will visit the city of
Sian.
