UNDP REPRESENTATIVE PRESENTS LETTER OF CREDENCE
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The permanent representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to Mongolia Mrs. Sezin Sinanoglu presented Friday her letter of credence to Mr. G.Zandanshatar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction with a development of the cooperation between Mongolia and the UNDP, and said Mongolia's government and people always thank the UNDP for its assistance and support. Mr. Zandanshatar pointed out that the Mongolian government is attaching a great importance to implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to drawing up its national development strategy.
The Foreign Minister saod Mongolia intends to introduce its 3rd national report on realization of the MDGs during an upcoming visit of Mr. Ajay Chhibber, an assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Assistant UNDP Administrator and Regional Director, to be paid to Mongolia August 6 this year.
In her turn, Mrs. Sinanoglu thanked for the audience, and said she is satisfied with a close collaboration between the government of Mongolia and UN in working out a document on developmental assistance from UN for Mongolia for the years 2012-2016. She also expressed her willingness to support the Mongolian government in drawing up a long-term policy for abolishing the zud disaster consequences, preventing such natural disasters, for ensuring a preparedness for them.
