Bashkiria Kurultai changes law on protection of office employees

UFA, July 15 (Itar-Tass) -- Deputies of the State Assembly - -
Kurultai of Bashkiria at their extraordinary meeting on Thursday have
introduced changes into article 2 of the Law of the Republic regarding
economic, social and legal protection of office employees and members of
their families. As is said in the document, the amendments are introduced
"for uniformity and conformity of the level of state provision of pensions
for persons who occupied state service posts."
The extraordinary meeting of Kurultai was held in two years after
Murtaza Rakhimov said that he wouldn't aspire to a new presidential term
of office. The presence of 95 deputies at the meeting was quite enough to
secure a quorum. The reset of them were on holidays. The amendments were
adopted unanimously in three readings at once, and the text of these
amendments was not read out. The main author of the project - - Deputy
Prime Minister, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population
of Bashkiria Fidus Yamaltdinov refused to give any comments for the press.
For the first time over the last year, President of Bashkiria
Rakhimov who always occupied his sit in the presidium was absent at the
meeting.
