Iran's fm refutes Russian president's allegations

Madrid, July 14, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday that the allegations raised by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities are false and incorrect.

Mottaki made the remarks at a press conference in Madrid, Spain.

Speaking to reporters, he said Iran strongly rejects the stands adopted by Russia in recent months.

“We have no information about the goals or any clandestine deals, but we explicitly declare that we will never give up our legitimate rights as we are looking for a good relations with Russia although we do not approve of some of its stands,” Mottaki said.

Referring to the stands adopted by China and Russia, he said Iran is opposed to some of their policies and believe that Russia and China like any other countries have their own stands which might be opposed by Iran./end
