Yemen, Qatar in talks
SANA'A, July 13 (Saba) - Yemeni-Qatari official talks session
was held here on Tuesday, co-chaired by President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Qatari Emir
Sheikh
Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The talks dealt with the brotherly relations and aspects of joint cooperation
between the two brotherly countries and means of boosting them in various fields
and horizons
of strengthening Yemen's relations with the GCC countries.
The two leaders discussed ways to coordinate the two countries' efforts towards
strengthening the Arab solidarity and activating the joint Arab work in light of
the Yemeni
initiative for creating the Arab Union and the document to develop the joint Arab
action, which the recent pentagonal Arab summit held in last June in Tripoli
approved to
submit them to the extraordinary Arab summit to be held next October in the Libyan
city of Surt, so as to achieve interests of the Arab nation and ensure facing
challenges
imposed on it.
In the talks, the two leaders also exchanged points of view on a number of issues
and the regional and international developments, topped by the situations in
Palestine
and Iraq and the efforts exerted to enhance the security and stability in the region.
Furthermore, the two leaders held a closed session of talks in the Republican
Palace in the capital Sana'a.
Saba learned that the talks dealt with ways to promote the bilateral relations and
expand areas of joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries, as well as
exchanging
views about the developments and the current situations in the region, particularly
the situation in Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Sudan and Somalia.
The two leaders affirmed the mutual keenness to boost the bilateral relations and
to push them forward towards wider fields to serve the common interests of the two
brotherly
countries and peoples.
Moreover, the two sides emphasized the coordination of the two countries' positions
so as to serve the Arab solidarity and joint work, especially in light of the
current
challenges facing the Arab and Muslim nations.
