Plane crashes in Kalgoorlie, two trapped
An aircraft has crashed in West Australia's south-east, trapping two people inside
the wreckage, emergency services say.
The small fixed wing Cessna 210 aircraft crashed sometime before 4.30pm (WST) on
Tuesday, 120km south of Kalgoorlie, near Lake Cowan.
Two people were on board and are believed to be injured and trapped inside the
plane, a Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) spokesperson said.
The RAC Rescue helicopter is on its way to the crash site and the Australian
Maritime Safety Authority have organised for a Dash 8 aircraft to search for the
plane.
A four-wheel drive ambulance is making its way from Norseman, in WA's southeast but
it could take some time to reach the people.
FESA State Emergency Service volunteers and volunteer fire and rescue service
firefighters from the town are also making their way to the scene.
