Session of Convention of World Mongolians due in Russia July 15-17.
ULAN-UDE, July 13 (Itar-Tass) - A session of the Convention of World Mongolians will be for the first time held in Russia from July 15 to 17.
Over 100 reporters from Russia, Mongolia and China have been
accredited, sources from the organizing committee told Tass on Tuesday.
The session will be held in Ulan-Ude.
The official motto of the forum is Russia Welcomes World Mongolians.
Over 330 delegates and guests will take part. The main item of the agenda
is globalisation and the Mongolian world. It will be discussed at plenary
sessions and an international scientific conference.
A visiting session of the presidium of the Russian Academy of
Sciences' Siberian branch and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences will be
held within the framework of the fourth general session.
Taking into consideration a vast program of the forum and a big number
of guests, over 800 police will be ensuring their security in Ulan-Ude,
Buryatia's Deputy Interior Minister Oleg Kalinkin told Tass.
The Convention of World Mongolians is an international nongovernmental
organisation, set up in 2006. Its aim is to help preserve and study
Mongolian culture, as well as strengthen peace and friendship among the
nations. Over 20 countries in the world have Mongolian diasporas. Buryats
and Kalmyks also belong to Mongolic peoples.
