Official: UNSC should check crazy Israel instead of pressing Iran

Kuala Lumpur, July 13, IRNA – A Malaysian official said the behavior of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) towards Iran’s nuclear program was a clear case of its double standard policies in the world arena.

Talking to IRNA, Mukhriz Mahatir who is a deputy for the Malaysian minister of external trade said that the UNSC should check the insane behaviors of Israel instead of putting pressure on Iran.

He said the UNSC and the US pressed Iran for its nuclear program but ignored the nuclear arsenal of the Israeli regime and the danger it poses to the world.

He also criticized the UNSC and the western countries for neglecting the Israeli threats to the region as well as the whole world and said in spite of the fact that Israel has long been possessing nuclear arms, no one has a precise information of the volume of its nuclear arsenal.

Mahatir also urged both Islamic and non-Islamic countries to try to raise awareness among world people about Israeli threats.

The Malaysian official further stressed the continuing support of his country for Gaza people and noted that while all behaviors and measures by Israel were illegal and stood in contrast with the international regulations and humanitarian principles, the international bodies have failed to stop its criminal performance./end
