Iranian-Spanish FMs review issues of mutual interest

Madrid, July 13, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and his Spanish counterpart Miguel Angel Moratinos here Monday evening reviewed issues of mutual interest and the latest international developments.

Mottaki, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Madrid Monday evening on a two-day official visit.

Referring to the existing amicable ties between the two nations, the two foreign ministers called for further expansion of all-out bilateral cooperation, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast, who is accompanying Mottaki to Madrid, told IRNA on phone.

Expressing their concern over the recent developments in the Palestinian occupied lands, Mottaki and Moratinos called for lifting the Gaza siege.

Mottaki congratulated his counterpart on the victory of the Spanish football team’s World Cup win.

Spain won the World Cup for the first time ever on Sunday with a 1-0 extra-time win over the Netherlands.

During the meeting, Mottaki also briefed his counterpart on the latest developments in Iran’s Peaceful nuclear activities.

Meanwhile, Mottaki invited Moratinos to visit Tehran to continue consultations on various issues./end
