P.M. says govt will win trust vote
New Delhi, Jul 21 (PTI) Giving a thumbs up sign, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asserted Monday that his government will win the vote of confidence in the Lok Sabha which willcommence a 16-hour debate on the subject at 11 AM.
Arriving at Parliament House, an uncharacteristically animated Prime Minister waived at the waiting news camerapersons and indicated a 'V' sign before entering hisoffice there.
When newspersons asked about the government's prospects in the vote, he responded by saying "we will prove majority onthe floor of the House".
Singh would move in the Lok Sabha a one-line confidence motion -- "That this House expresses confidence in the Councilof Ministers". The voting on the motion will be held Tuesday.
This will be the first time that Singh will be moving a confidence motion in the House since the Congress-ledcoalition came to power in 2004.
