Sakhalin Energy consigns 100th tanker with oil.



VLADIVOSTOK, July 12 (Itar-Tass) - Sakhalin Energy Company that
develops offshore oil deposits on the continental shelf of Russia's Far
Eastern island of Sakhalin has consigned the 100th tanker with crude oil
for the international market.
The Gubernator Farkhutdinov tanker left the port of Prigorodnoye and
is hauling the consignment to the Republic of Korea.
Since the start of round-the-year shipments in December 2008, Sakhalin
Energy has cosigned more than 9 million tons of the Vityaz blend crude to
Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Thailand, Taiwan, the Philippines,
the U.S., and New Zealand.
The Vityaz blend has received recognition as a fair prime material for
the production of gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, and various
petrochemical products.
It is noteworthy that the very first crude was consigned from the
Prigorodnoye wharfs by the same tanker Gubernator Farkhutdinov, which
belongs to the Far-Eastern Shipping Line and has been leased to the oil
company on provisions of long-term lease.

.Siberian region to mark Tomato Day.

KRASNOYARSK, July 12 (Itar-Tass) - Southern districts of the
Krasnoyarsk territory in Siberia are marking the Minusinsk Tomato day,
which was instituted by local authorities in the Minusinsk district in
2004 but became so popular that it received later the status of a
territorial holiday.
Tomatoes grown in the Minusinsk Trench are known for their fleshiness,
perfect tastiness, big productivity, and big size.
The record weight of a tomato registered to date is 1.7 kilograms. The
main condition is that the local residents should not use any chemicals in
the process of growing.
The Minusinsk Tomato competition that will be held from July 19
through to August 17 will have several nominations - 'An Exemplary Kitchen
Garden', 'Exemplary Gardeners', 'The Culinary Mysteries of the Tomato',
'The Tomato Parade', and 'The Minusinsk Champion'.
A car will be the traditional prize for the biggest tomato.
The Day of the Minusinsk tomato as such will be celebrated August 21.
The guests from neighboring territories will bring along with them, in
their turn nuts, honey, meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, and bakery
products.
The town's high street will turn into a huge marketplace where the
owners of local kitchen gardens will sell vegetable, fruit and flowers.

.Assistant prosecutor, criminal police chief wounded in N Caucasus.

MAKHACHKALA, July 12 (Itar-Tass) - Deputy prosecutor and chief of the
Criminal Police have survived assassination attempts in the Khasavyurt
district of the North Caucasian region of Dagestan.
The attempts occurred late night Sunday, officials at the Dagestani
Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass.
At 22:30, unknown gunmen opened fire on a car where the Assistant
Prosecutor of the District, Sirazhutdin Murtazaliyev, was riding together
with his two-year-old son.
The Interior Ministry source said Murtazaliyev was injured but
slightly and managed to drive to the hospital on his own, while his young
son received severs skull wounds.
Five minutes before the attack on Murtazaliyev, another group of
unknown gunmen opened fire at a car where Lieutenant Colonel Aslambek
Alibekov, the chief of the district criminal police was riding.
The policemen himself was not wounded by a female relative who was
riding in the same car received a tangential wound.
The policemen failed to track the criminals down gut it instituted
criminal cases and started investigations.
