Beijing plans to reach $60-bln turnover in Russia-China trade by

MOSCOW, July 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Beijing plans to reach
60-billion-dollar turnover in Russian-Chinese trade before the end of the
year, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's
Congress of the Republic of China Hua Jianmin said at the Russian Chamber
of Commerce and Industry.
"Lately, Russian-Chinese relations develop dynamically and show rather
high level. Strategic partnership is permanently strengthening. The two
countries have close or identical stances on the key international
problems," Hua said.
"Despite the global economic crisis, the two countries managed to keep
an upward dynamics in their trade and economic relations, mainly in the
energy sector," he said.
"I am confident that bilateral trade will grow significantly and even
reach 60 billion U.S. dollars by the yearend, when an oil pipeline between
Russia and China is commissioned in September 2010," the Chinese official
said.
"The Russian-Chinese Friendship, Peace and Development Committee is
the major floor of humanitarian contacts. In addition, it plays a key role
in the enhancement of relations between Moscow and Beijing," Hua said.
In his words, "jointly with Russia we would like to raise our
relations into a new level."
"My visit was aimed at a meeting with co-chairman of the
Russian-Chinese Friendship, Peace and Development Committee and Russian
Presidential Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Leonid Drachevsky,"
Hua said.
He voiced satisfaction with the results of the meeting. "We exchanged
views, reached a set of important agreements. Upon the results of the
talks, we signed a plan of action for our committee for 2011," the Chinese
official said.
President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yevgeny
Primakov stressed: "Bilateral interaction is based on the mutually
beneficial strategic partnership, which is confirmed by meetings at the
top level."
In his words, Moscow and Beijing develop intensive cooperation,
including in the export of electricity, peaceful use of atomic energy, and
humanitarian contacts. "In 2009, bilateral trade reached 56 billion U.S.
dollars," Primakov said.
During the visit to Russia on July 5-10, the Chinese delegation led by
Hua made trips to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Irkutsk among others.
