Child anti-trafficking workshop launched in Hodeidah
HODEIDAH, July 10 (Saba) - A
training workshop on supporting the legal structure according to national and
ratified international
texts of children anti-trafficking was launched in Hodeidah province on Saturday.
The workshop was organized by the program of strengthening juvenile justice systems
at Justice Ministry in cooperation with UNICEF and funded by the European Union.
During three days, the workshop aims to familiarize 44 judges and lawyers with the
international and local trafficking concepts.
It also targets to develop the judges and lawyers' skills in order to improve the
performance, spread awareness and affecting trends and behaviors through adopting
the concepts
and standards that ensure the protection of children.
Inaugurating the workshop, Hodeidah Governor Ahmed Salem al-Jabali noted to the
importance of protecting children from trafficking, which becomes one of the most
dangerous
problems facing children in local societies.
He also affirmed the significance of joining the local, regional and international
efforts in order to come out with an appropriate mechanism for combating child
trafficking
phenomenon.
