KHAN BANK AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Khan Bank has been implementing scholarship programs for new students for the last four years. The purpose of this program is to invest into the education of young students by awarding university and college tuition fees to talented and well-performed secondary school graduates with limited financial capabilities to study in universities in order to boost their motivation to learn.
The scholarship was publicly announced in March and secondary school graduates from all over Mongolia submitted their applications. After careful selection at soum, district, aimag and national level, 100 highly motivated bright students with exceptional personal and social qualities but with limited financial capabilities to support own education were selected for the Khan Bank Scholarship Program 2010-2011 throughout Mongolia.
Khan Bank Foundation not only awards one time tuition fees to the recipients, but also continues to award the scholarship in the upcoming years to the students with excellent educational achievement and proactive social involvement.
On Thursday, the Khan Bank announced that Foundation will continue to sponsor 40 former recipients of the scholarship program in 2010-2011 academic year as they have been actively participating in social events and shown marvelous academic performance in their respective universities. A award ceremony of the scholarship was held in the Ceremonial Ger in Khan Bank Head office and 27 students from Ulaanbaatar, representing the new and succeeding awardees in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year in the university received their certificates.
Since the establishment of this scholarship, Khan Bank has granted scholarships to over 500 outstanding students with a total value of over MNT 270 million.
Future of Mongolia or 140 newly and currently enrolled students with high achievements, selected among their peers, will enter the upcoming academic year without any worries about the tuition fees.
