ASTANA, July 8 (Itar-Tass) -- Kazakhstan plans to produce about 15
million tonnes of grain and to export 6.5 million tonnes over the current
year, Kazakhstan's Deputy Agriculture Minister Arman Yevniyev said on
Thursday.
"We shall not be able to reach the level of the past year, which was
record [32 million tonnes of grain]," he said. "Records do not happen
every year, but I believe we shall produce between 14.5 and 15.5 million
tonnes of grain."
Kazakhstan plans to export not less than 6.5 million tonnes over the
2010-2011 marketing year.
"Over the past few years we exported about 6.5 million tonnes of grain
a year," Yevniyev said. "I believe we have every reason to forecast we
shall export not less than that."
