DPRK threatens with `deadly war` if UN finds it guilty for Cheonan.
SEOUL, July 7 (Itar-Tass) -- The DPRK has threatened to unleash a
"deadly war" if the UN Security Council adopts a resolution making the
country responsible for the sinking of the South Korea's Cheonan corvette
on March 26, the KCNA /Korean Central News Agency / quoted a statement of
North Korea's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea on
Wednesday.
The warning from official Pyongyang was voiced as the UN Security
Council discusses the demand from South Korea to blame the North for the
sinking of the naval ship in the Yellow Sea where 46 sailors died. Seoul's
position is supported by the results of the international expertise, which
involved experts from Australia, the UK, the USA and Switzerland. The
expert commission confirmed that a torpedo from the North Korea's
submarine had sunk the corvette. The DPRK rejected fully the accusation
and called the incident a provocation by the USA and South Korea.
