.Kyrgyzstan sends to Minsk another extradition request for Bakiyev.

BISHKEK, July 7 (Itar-Tass) -- Kyrgyzstan plans to forward to Belarus
another request to extradite the former President Kurmanbek Bakiyev,
Kyrgyzstan's Deputy Prime Minister of the interim government supervising
the judicial system and law enforcement authorities Azimbek Beknazarov
said on Wednesday.
"We intend to forward another request," he said.
Earlier, the Belarusian Prosecutor General's Office refused to
extradite Bakiyev as did not see reasons for that.
Kyrgyzstan hopes that this time the chances to bring back the former
president and to institute criminal proceedings against him are quite
high, because the first request was sent to Minsk when the power in
Kyrgyzstan "was not legitimate", he said.
"This affected the decision of the foreign country," Beknazarov said.
Following the June 27 referendum Roza Otunbayeva became president for
the transition period and the situation in Kyrgyzstan has changed.
"I have ordered the Prosecutor General, Baitemir Ibrayev, to forward
another request to Belarus," he said.
Bakiyev was ousted as president amid April's opposition protests. Over
the storm of the House of Government, where the presidential
administration sat too, on April 7, the security opened fire against the
protesters. About a hundred demonstrators were killed. The interim
government that took over the power accused the former president and his
brother Zhanybek Bakiyev, who was the head of the state security service,
of brutal murders. The decree of the interim government deprived the
former president of inviolability, and Kurmanbek and Zhanybek Bakiyev were
announced as wanted.
