Street robbers steal 6 mln roubles in western Moscow.

MOSCOW, July 7 (Itar-Tass) - Street robbers stole about six million
roubles from a man in western Moscow late on Tuesday.
The duty officer of the Moscow interior department, Gennady Bogachev,
told Itar-Tass that the crime had been committed near building 14 on
Dorogobuzhsklaya Street.
"Two unidentified men armed with an electric shocker attacked the male
victim, took the bag with the money away from him and escaped," Bogachev
went on to say. Witnesses said that the robbers had driven away in a
Zhiguli car without number plates.
Police have launched an "Intercept" plan in Moscow's western
administrative district to catch the criminals.
Law enforcers say that street robbery is widespread in big cities.
"The robbers count on their own fast actions and the fright of a victim
who is going to give them money and other valuable things without
resistance," the source explained.
He added that robbers know in advance about the time and route of
transportation of huge sums of money or trace and follow up their victims
from the very beginning. In other words, they act for certain. Accidental
robberies are practically ruled out.

.Holland defeats Uruguay at World Football Championship.

PRETORIA, July 7 (Itar-Tass) - The Dutch football team has defeated
Uruguay 3-2 in the first semi-final of the World Football Championship in
South Africa.

. Russia, Sweden set to promote bilateral cooperation.

MOSCOW, July 7 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and Sweden are interested in
advancing bilateral cooperation with an emphasis on economic
modernization, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday after
consultations between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov and
First Deputy Foreign Minister of Sweden Frank Belfrage.
"The sides had a detailed discussion of the state and prospects of
further development of Russian-Swedish relations," the Russian Foreign
Ministry went on to say.
"The sides focused on implementation of agreements reached during
visits by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Stockholm in November 2009
and by Swedish Prime Minister Frederick Reinfeldt to Moscow in March
2010," the Russian Foreign Minister emphasized.
"Moscow and Stockholm confirmed their reciprocal interest in building
up mutually beneficial regional cooperation in the Baltic region and in
the north of Europe and in deepening a foreign policy dialogue," the
Russian Foreign Ministry clarified.
Other topics for discussion included interaction within the framework
of the Russia-EU partnership and urgent international issues, including
the Middle East settlement and the situation around Afghanistan and Iran.

. Madrid principles create conditions for Karabakh settlement-Aliev.

BAKU, July 7 (Itar-Tass) - Azerbaijan's President Ilkham Aliev said on
Tuesday that the renewed Madrid principles for settling the
Nagrono-Karabakh conflict created conditions for the restoration of
Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.
"This is exactly why Azerbaijan is taking part in the talks and is
demonstrating a constructive approach, President Aliev emphasized. He said
that Azerbaijan, with a few exceptions, had accepted the proposals of
international mediators. They provide, among other things, for the
functioning of a corridor between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh as well as
the deployment of a peacekeeping force on Nagorno-Karabakh's
administrative border. Besides, the region may be granted an interim
status, which is not going to violate Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.
President Aliev believes that these are democratic principles reflecting
norms of international law.
"The strengthening of peace and the opening up of communications will
positively influence the ongoing processes in the region," Aliev
emphasized.
He expressed the hope that countries, which co-chair the OSCE Minsk
group, including Russia, the United States and France, are going to
persuade Armenia to accept the renewed Madrid principles of settlement.
"If Armenia doesn't give a positive answer to the proposals of the
mediators, it will become useless to continue the talks in this format.
And if it's going to be impossible to continue the negotiations, then we
shouldn't be talking about a peaceful process at all," the Azerbaijani
leader stressed.

. Export duties inside Customs Union may be lifted by 2012.

MOSCOW, July 7 (Itar-Tass) - Export duties inside the Customs Union
set up by Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus, may be lifted before 2012 if the
Common Economic Space is to be created, said Alexei Kudrin, the
vice-premier and Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin.
Kudrin told journalists on Tuesday that export duties were unlikely to
be removed before the Common Economic Space was created.
Kudrin noted that at present the formula of creating the Common
Economic Space was more flexible and if all agreements were prepared and
put into effect, earlier dates for lifting the export duties could be
considered. But ultimately everything is going to depend on the schedule
of signing the agreements (necessary for the creation of the Common
Economic Space), the Prime Tass economic and financial news agency reports.
