Yemen executes man who raped and killed five-year-old
TAIZ, July 06 (Saba) - The man
convicted of raping and killing a five-year-old girl child was executed on Monday
by
firing squad in Yemen's western province of Taiz.
The execution of Akram Al-Samawi, who raped and killed Nusaiba Nadir Ahmed
Abdullah in August 2009, took place at the provincial central prison.
The West Taiz Court convicted Al-Samawi, 19, in November last year and ruled to
kill him by firing squad.
The father of Nusaiba who attended the execution said that the father of Al-Samawi
tried to convince him to take money and abandon seeking justice.
Al-Samawi's father who works at the provincial passport office offered a YR 15
million cheque but I rejected it, he said.
