Int'l Orthodox fair to open in Kaliningrad on Tuesday.

KALININGRAD, July 1 (Itar-Tass) - The first International Peter and Paul Orthodox exhibition-and-fair "The Land of Russia-2010" opens here on Tuesday.

Prior to the opening of the Orthodox fair, Kaliningrad Region Governor
Georgy Boos will present the keys to the newly built chapel in honour of
Sts. Peter and Febronia, the patrons of family happiness, love and
devotion, to Bishop Serafim of the Baltics.
The chapel with unique architecture has been built on private
contributions within less than a year in the area of the Victory Square,
next to the majestic Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.
A public prayer service is to be held on Tuesday and the first Divine
Liturgy is to be recited on Thursday, July 8, on the all-Russia holiday -
the Day of Family, Love and Devotion.
Georgy Boos is the head of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for
the construction of the chapel in honour of Sts. Peter and Febronia of
Murom.
The seven-day Orthodox fair has been arranged at one of cultural and
shopping centers of the city in the vicinity of the Cathedral and the
Chapel. More than 30 churches, monasteries, and parishes from 55 cities of
Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine participate in this large-scale event.
On display at the exhibition stalls on an area of 700 square metres
will be ritual implements of the church, icons, souvenirs, Orthodox
literature and music, objects of decorative and applied arts, handicrafts,
medicinal herb compounds, honey, and many other things.
Numerous mass cultural events for children and adults and folk
merrymaking have been planned for the fair. These will be dedicated to the
July 8 Day of Family, Love and Devotion, and to the July 12 Day of
Commemoration of Sts. Peter and Febronia.
The Orthodox fair is held with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill of
Moscow and All Russia and under the auspices of the Kalinigrad Bishopric
of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Kaliningrad city administration, an
official at the organizing committee of the fair has told Itar-Tass.
The holding of international Orthodox fairs in the city becomes a
tradition already. The Third International Christmas Fair was held here in
January, with Orthodox churches and monasteries from many cities of
Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus being widely represented. .

.Vnukovo new terminal to receive first inbound passengers.

MOSCOW, July 6 (Itar-Tass) - A new five-storey air terminal of the
Vnukovo airport in Moscow's south-west is to receive its first inbound
passengers on Tuesday. They will arrived by air from Anapa, a health
resort on the Black Sea coast.
An airport official has told Itar-Tass, "Thereby we gradually begin to
bring the air terminal into operation".
At first, the new air terminal will receive only inbound flights.
However, towards the end of the month, the air terminal will begin to
cater for outbound passengers as well.
The start of the operation of the new air terminal, which promises to
become this country's most up-to-date one, has coincided with the
airport's 69th jubilee, which was marked on July 2.
Vnukovo staff are convinced that the air terminal with an aggregate
area of 250,000 square metres will make it possible to raise the airport's
acceptance rate up to 22 million passengers a year, ensuring international
standards of service in the process.
The air terminal has five main levels, including a subterranean one
which is combined with a railway station which since August 2005 has been
receiving comfortable express trains coming from the center of the capital.
By its passenger traffic, Vnukovo is rated third among the airports of
the capital. This air harbour, which is located closer to the city than
the other ones, has an acceptance rate of up to 6,800 passengers an hour.
The airport caters for about 120,000 flights of airliners of more than 200
air companies of Russia, members of the Commonwealth of Independent
States, and other foreign countries.
