Russia offers support to Kyrgyzstan.

ASTANA, July 5 (Itar-Tass) - President Dmitry Medvedev has assured the new president of Kyrgyzstan, Rosa Otunbayeva, that Kyrgyzstan can always count on Russia's support.

"The most important thing is to give a correct impulse. Despite
national, ethnic and confessional status all citizens should enjoy equal
respect and be protected by the law," Medvedev told the Kyrgyz president
on Monday. "If that is guaranteed Kyrgyzstan will be able to develop," he
noted.
In return, Otunbayeva voiced fears that a new spiral of confrontation
was possible. "Today, there is a relative lull here, but we are prepared
for new possible repercussions," she said, stressing, "There is no talk
about restoration yet."
