Iran discovers new oil, gas fields
Tehran, July 5, IRNA – Iran's Oil Minister Massoud Mir-Kazemi announced on Monday discovery of three new oil and gas fields in different areas in the country.
Talking to reporters, Mir-Kazemi said one of them called Forouz is located in a region 30 kilometers to the southeast of the Iranian Island of Kish in the Persian Gulf.
He added that the two others are called Toos and Alborz gas and oil fields located in the northeastern province of Razavi Khorasan and central province of Qom respectively.
Forouz gas field contains 700 billion cubic meters of in place gas and 288 million barrels of in place liquid condensates and is potentially capable of producing 70 million cubic meters of gas per day, Kazemi underlined.
Toos gas field and Alborz oil field can produce four million cubic meters of gas and 2,000 barrels of oil daily respectively, the oil minister said./end
