Iran-Azeri officials meet
Baku, Azerbaijan, July 5, IRNA - Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini met with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Monday.
Hosseini is visiting Baku upon an invitation by his Azeri counterpart Abulfaz Garayev.
Hosseini conveyed greetings of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to President Aliyev who sent, in return, his warmest greetings for the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and President Ahmadinejad.
The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest as well as major regional and international developments.
Hosseini called for further promotion of Tehran-Baku cooperation in the field of cultural activities.
In addition to meeting with the Azeri president and minister of culture, the Iranian minister is to hold separate talks with several high-ranking officials of Azerbaijan during his two-day stay in the country./end
