7 killed in fatal crash in Taiz
TAIZ, July 05 (Saba) - About 7 Yemenis have been
killed Sunday evening in a fatal accident of a bus and a taxi took place at a
highway in Taiz
province, south Yemen.
Eyewitnesses said to Saba that the crash took place between the bus and the taxi,
killing 7 people were onboard the taxi while the bus overturned, wounding several
travelers.
50 people were onboard the bus traveling from Hodaidah province to Aden city.
In March, about 73 people were killed and 214 others were wounded due to 258 road
accidents taken place throughout the country.
The accidents caused material losses estimated to be YR 38.5 million (US$1 = YR225).
A report issued by the Traffic General Administration noted that the capital Sana'a
has ranked first in terms of incidents' number with 35 ones and followed by 35
accidents
in Taiz province.
"The reasons behind the accidents were over speed, neglect, technical faults and
others", according to the report.
