SECOND ROUND OF POLAND PRESIDENTIAL VOTE UNDERWAY IN BAKU
Baku, July 4 (AzerTAc). The popular election of the President of Poland were held on June, 20 2010. As no candidate received majority votes in the first round, a second round is held today.
The polling station No22 was set up in the Polish embassy in Baku.
The results of the voting will be announced at 23:00 following the end of poll in Poland.
After President Lech Kaczynski`s death in a plane crash on April 10, 2010, the Constitution required the Marshal of the Sejm to declare the date within two weeks, with the election to take place on a weekend within the following 60 days, i.e. 20 June at the latest. On April 21, the Marshal, Bronisław Komorowski, announced the election date as June 20 2010
Only ten candidates collected the required 100,000 signatures and are, therefore, eligible to run for president
Acting Polish president Bronislaw Komorowski has gained 41,54% of the vote in the country`s presidential elections and will face a runoff against his main opponent Jaroslaw Kaczynski
