Importance of broad-based, long term Pakistan, U.S. relationship stressed

Islamabad, July 19 PPI: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi emphasised importance of broad-based and long term relationship between Pakistan and United States, going beyond counter terrorism cooperation.

Talking to visiting U.S. Under Secretary for Economic, Energy & Agricultural Affairs Reuben Jeffery on Saturday, he particularly called for enhanced market access for Pakistani products in the U.S., collaboration in energy sector and cooperation in agriculture.

Jeffery underlined importance, Washington attachs to its relationship with Islamabad and its support for strengthening bilateral trade, economic ties.

He also expressed support for closer cooperation in energy and agriculture sectors.

Matters relating to Reconstruction Opportunity Zones and Bilateral Investment Treatyalso come under discussion.
